Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks end with gains
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks ended the day with small gains on Monday, having swung in and out of positive territory, with investors welcoming data indicating a surprise increase in Chinese manufacturing activity.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.08 per cent, or 19.59 points, to 25784.17.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index nudged up 0.11 per cent, or 3.48 points, to 3,195.91 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.40 per cent, or 7.51 points, to 1,905.20.
