Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks open higher after Fed meeting
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares rose in the first few minutes of trade Thursday, following gains in US and European markets after the Federal Reserve signalled an optimistic view on the world economy.
The Hang Seng Index climbed 0.60 per cent, or 127.36 points, to 21,488.96 soon after opening.
In Shanghai, the benchmark composite index was marginally higher, edging up 2.07 points to 2,955.74, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, was flat, putting on 0.24 points to 1,876.75.
