Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks open lower
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks eased marginally in the first few minutes of trade Thursday, following a sell-off in the US and Europe on escalating geopolitical tensions.
The Hang Seng Index was down 0.08 per cent, or 21.75 points, to 27,735.34.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.18 per cent, or 5.84 points, to 3,269.73, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gave up 0.20 per cent, or 3.76 points, to 1,881.79.
