Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks open lower
[Hong Kong] Hong Kong stocks fell at the start of trade Wednesday following three days of gains and Shanghai was also down after Moody's downgraded its credit rating on China over concerns about the country's debt.
The Hang Seng Index dipped 0.08 per cent, or 20.89 points, to 25,382.26.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.47 per cent, or 14.38 points, to 3,047.57, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gave up 0.46 per cent, or 8.20 points, to 1,781.27.
