[HONG KONG] Shares in Hong Kong and Shanghai rose in the first few minutes of trade on Monday following a strong US jobs report late last week while investors weigh China's decision to lower its economic growth outlook for this year.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index added 0.64 per cent, or 129.39 points, to 20,306.09.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.43 per cent, or 12.49 points, to 2,886.64, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 1.01 per cent, or 17.21 points, to 1,724.18.
