Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks rise at open
[HONG KONG] Shares in Hong Kong and Shanghai rose in early trade Wednesday as investors followed another positive lead from Wall Street, but analysts warned gains would be limited as investors begin to cash in profits.
The Hang Seng Index edged up 0.08 per cent, or 16.61 points, to 21,452.82 at the open.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.25 per cent, or 7.56 points, to 3,050.38 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.28 per cent, or 5.41 points, to 1,963.61.
