Hong Kong: Shares extend gains at open

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks built on a three-day rally soon after opening on Wednesday as fears of a China-US trade war eased, while energy firms were boosted by a surge in oil prices.

The Hang Seng Index rose 0.64 per cent, or 195.45 points, to 30,924.19.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 0.22 per cent, or 7.05 points, to 3,197.37, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.21 per cent, or 3.86 points, to 1,845.08.
