Hong Kong: Shares extend rally to sixth day
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks rose for a sixth successive day Monday as investors tracked another record close on Wall Street, but mainland Chinese markets tumbled as concerns about a crackdown on debt overshadowed forecast-beating growth data.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 0.31 per cent, or 81.35 points, to close at 26,470.58.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended down 1.43 per cent, or 45.96 points, at 3,176.46. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, sank 4.28 per cent, or 80.47 points, to 1,800.54.
