Hong Kong: Shares recover to end flat
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks closed flat Monday while Shanghai ended higher as the markets largely shrugged off debt warnings by China's central bank chief.
The Hang Seng Index recovered from morning losses to close down by just 0.02 per cent, or 6.81 points, at 28,596.80.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.49 per cent, or 16.43 points, to 3,388.17. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 1.18 per cent, or 23.38 points, to end at 1,999.30.
