Hong Kong: Shares up 0.17% at open

[Hong Kong] Hong Kong stocks opened 0.17 per cent higher Wednesday ahead of the release of Chinese inflation data later in the day, while dealers are watching events on the streets of the city after pro-democracy protestors clashed with police overnight.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 39.53 points to 23,087.50. AFP
