Hong Kong: Stocks edge down at open
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks ticked slightly lower in early trade on Monday following a rally at the end of last week but Shanghai extended gains following broadly upbeat Chinese economic growth data.
The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.29 per cent, or 81.21 points, to 28,406.03.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.11 per cent, or 3.63 points, to 3,382.28 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged down 0.02 per cent, or 0.39 points, to 1,999.29.
