Hong Kong: Stocks edge up at open
[HONG KONG] Shares in Hong Kong rose slightly in opening trade Friday following an almost one percent fall the previous day, while Shanghai retreated on profit-taking.
Hong Kong's benchmark Hang Seng Index edged up 0.14 per cent, or 29.12 points, to 21,125.1 in the first few minutes.
Shanghai's benchmark composite index slipped 0.38 per cent, or 11.84 points, to 3,130.85, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.53 per cent, or 9.27 points, to 1,748.27.
