[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares ended 0.64 per cent higher on Friday, reversing morning losses as the city's leaders prepare to hold talks with pro-democracy protestors who have shut down parts of the financial hub for the past week.

The Hang Seng Index ended 147.49 points higher at 23,080.47 on turnover of US$12.41 billion.

However the index is still well down for the week, having lost more than three percent over Monday and Tuesday. It was closed on Wednesday and Thursday for public holidays.- AFP
