[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares tumbled on Friday, in line with a retreat across Asia and in New York as investors fret over the future of market-friendly US tax-cut measures.

The Hang Seng Index sank 1.09 per cent, or 318.27 points, to close at 28,848.11.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.80 per cent, or 26.30 points, to 3,266.14 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.72 per cent, or 13.80 points, to 1,901.20.
