Hong Kong: Stocks extend gains as energy firms rally

[HONG KONG] Shares in Hong Kong built on the previous day's gains after another record close on Wall Street, while energy firms were lifted by a surge in oil prices.

The Hang Seng index rose 0.63 per cent, or 140.19 points, to 22,464.10.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.05 per cent, or 1.51 points, to 3,208.50, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.10 per cent, or 2.05 points, to 2,126.45.
