Hong Kong: Stocks extend losses to a third day
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks closed down for a third straight day on Wednesday, tracking sharp losses around Asia and on Wall Street with energy firms hit by sinking oil prices.
The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.11 per cent, or 25.12 points, to close at 23,190.64. It has now lost almost four per cent since Friday's close.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slid 0.68 per cent, or 20.66 points, to 3,002.85 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gave up 0.46 per cent, or 9.08 points, to 1,980.25.
