[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks gained 0.36 per cent at the opening bell on Wednesday, defying weakness on the Tokyo bourse ahead of a European Central Bank monetary policy meeting.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 85.68 points to 24,036.84.
