Hong Kong: Stocks open higher after Fed comments
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks rose in early trade on Thursday, tracking gains across global markets as investors welcomed the Federal Reserve's upbeat assessment of the US economy and shrugged off its hint of a December interest rate hike.
The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong added 0.27 per cent, or 61.25 points, to 23,017.82.
Shanghai's composite index added 0.37 per cent, or 12.57 points, to 3,387.77, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.67 per cent, or 13.44 points, to 2,011.82.
