Hong Kong: Stocks open higher after Wall St gains
[HONG KONG] Shares in Hong Kong edged up in the first few minutes of trade on Friday, tracking gains in New York and Europe as the likelihood of further US interest rates this year faded.
The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong climbed 0.54 per cent, or 104.27 points, to 19,287.36.
And in Shanghai the composite index was flat, edging up 2.06 points to 2,783.08 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.15 per cent, or 2.64 points, to 1,773.71.
