Hong Kong: Stocks open up 0.14%
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened up 0.14 per cent Monday, taking heed from a rally on Wall Street which finished last week on a positive note.
The Hang Seng Index added 39.38 points to 28,172.38.
Chinese shares were also trading slightly higher in morning trade after a long holiday weekend, following official data last week that showed China's manufacturing activity expanded modestly in April, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.01 per cent to 4,441.98 points.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.40 per cent, or 8.98 points, to 2,276.75.
