Hong Kong: Stocks plunge almost four percent at open

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares plunged almost four percent in the opening minutes of trade on Tuesday as global markets are routed following months of strong gains.

The Hang Seng Index dived 3.77 percent, or 1,216.54 points, to 31,028.68.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.99 per cent, or 69.49 points, to 3,418.01, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, dropped 1.95 per cent, or 35.22 points, to 1,771.08.
