Hong Kong: Stocks rise in early trade

[HONG KONG] Shares in Hong Kong rose in early trade on Tuesday after eight successive losses while investors looked ahead to the US Federal Reserve's key policy meeting later in the week.

The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong added 0.17 per cent, or 35.25 points, to 21,345.10.

But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.07 per cent or 2.54 points, to 3,518.13 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged up 0.14 per cent, or 3.17 points, to 2,242.85.
