[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened sharply higher on Friday on optimism over the global economy and following yet another record close on Wall Street.
The Hang Seng Index climbed 0.75 percent, or 211.82 points, to 28,591.00.
Financial markets in mainland China are closed for a week-long holiday.
