Hong Kong: Stocks tick higher at open

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks edged up in the first few minutes of trade on Monday ahead of the release of Chinese economic data later in the week.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.25 per cent, or 74.01 points, at 29,194.93.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.07 per cent, or 2.51 points, to 3,435.18 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.05 per cent, or 1.04 points, to 2,040.21.
