Hong Kong: Stocks up at open after Wall St lead

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks edged up soon after the open on Wednesday following a rebound on Wall Street fuelled by strong US data, while energy firms were lifted by a rally in oil prices.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.22 per cent, or 52.64 points, to 24,398.51.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index barely moved, dipping 0.08 points to 3,252.87 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, also saw a marginal shift, ticking 0.45 points lower to 2,034.67.
