Shanghai, Hong Kong: Stocks down at open
[HONG KONG] Shanghai stocks extended their recent sell-off Tuesday, sinking soon after the opening bell, with Hong Kong following suit as it dived almost one percent.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.35 per cent, or 9.78 points, to 2,822.33 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, eased 0.26 per cent, or 4.63 points, to 1,799.71.
The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong tumbled 0.96 per cent, or 194.38 points, to 19,962.43.
