[SHANGHAI] Shanghai stocks closed lower on Monday, reversing earlier gains that were fuelled by data showing profits at China's key industrial companies rose in January-February for the first time since mid-2015.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.73 per cent, or 21.61 points, to 2,957.82, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.56 per cent, or 10.52 points, to 1,874.66.
The Hong Kong stock market was closed for a holiday.
