Shenzhen-HK stock connect preparation going smoothly: regulator
[BEIJING] Preparation work for a stock connect scheme between China's Shenzhen bourse and Hong Kong is going "smoothly", a spokesman for China's securities regulator said on Friday.
The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) has"consistently supported" the stock connect scheme, spokesman Deng Ge said at a weekly press conference in Beijing. China hopes the scheme will boost investment in the country's markets.
Mr Deng also said China would allow institutions other than brokerages to act as market makers in the country's main over-the-counter exchange.
