Singapore shares begin afternoon trading on positive ground; STI at 3,535.99
SINGAPORE shares resumed trading on Friday afternoon in positive territory with the Straits Times Index at 3,535.99, up 0.4 per cent, or 14.68 points, on the day as at 1.05pm.
Gainers outnumbered losers 204 to 141, or about three up for every two down, with about 725.9 million shares worth S$680 million in total changing hands, working out to an average unit price of S$0.94 per share.
Among the active stocks, Allied Tech entered the afternoon session down 1.39 per cent, or 0.1 Singapore cent, at 7.1 Singapore cents with 39.1 million shares traded. Golden Agri-Resources was the second-most traded with some 32.18 million shares changing hands at 37 Singapore cents apiece, down 3.9 per cent or 1.5 Singapore cents.
Active index stocks included DBS Group Holdings, up 0.73 per cent or 19 Singapore cents at S$26.19; and Sembcorp Marine, up 7.14 per cent or 15 Singapore cents, at S$2.25.
