Singapore shares begin afternoon trading on positive ground; STI at 3,547.48
SINGAPORE shares resumed trading on Thursday afternoon in positive territory with the Straits Times Index at 3,547.48, up 0.2 per cent, or 5.57 points, on the day as at 1.02pm.
Gainers outnumbered losers 192 to 144, or about four up for every three down, with about 819.1 million shares worth S$565.8 million changing hands, working out to an average unit price of S$0.69 per share.
The most actively traded counter was precision manufacturer JEP, which rose 0.6 Singapore cent to 7.4 Singapore cents with 83.2 million shares changing hands. Other actives included DISA, flat at 1.5 Singapore cents with 60.49 million shares traded, and Allied Tech at 7.3 Singapore cents, up 0.1 Singapore cent or 1.39 per cent with 40.12 million shares traded.
Active index stocks included DBS Group Holdings, up 0.23 per cent or six Singapore cents at S$26.27; and OCBC, down 0.152 per cent or two Singapore cents, at S$13.16.
