Singapore shares close 0.5% higher on Monday
SINGAPORE stocks ended higher on Monday, with the Straits Times Index gaining 15.55 points or 0.5 per cent to 3,078.06.
Gainers beat losers 188 to 172, after about 1.6 billion shares worth S$842.1 million changed hands.
The most actively traded counter was Genting Singapore with 67.8 million shares traded, rising 1.6 per cent or 1.5 Singapore cents to 95 Singapore cents.
Other active index stocks included DBS which gained 0.37 per cent to S$24.35, and OCBC Bank which rose 0.93 per cent to S$10.81.
