Singapore shares close 0.5% lower

SHARE prices in the Singapore bourse closed lower on Tuesday with the Straits Times Index losing 15.13 points or 0.5 per cent to finish at 3,334.67.
Some 1.7 billion shares worth S$1.09 billion were traded compared with nearly two billion shares worth S$1.03 billion done on Monday.
Losers trounced gainers with 222 counters down and 202 up.
