Singapore shares close 0.5% up
SINGAPORE stocks finished 0.5 per cent higher on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index advancing 17.03 points to 3,327.83.
Top trades by value included OCBC Bank, Thai Beverage, Singtel, Global Logistic Properties and DBS.
About 2.78 billion shares worth S$1.17 billion in total changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$0.42 per share.
The most actively traded counter was Sincap, which fell S$0.017 to S$0.031 with 298 million shares changing hands. Other actives included Rowsley and Advanced System.
Losers outnumbered gainers 265 to 214, or about five down for every four up.
