Singapore shares close flat with STI at 2,828.39
SINGAPORE shares struggled to hold on to an early rebound on Tuesday as the Straits Times Index (STI) eased by 0.04 per cent or 1.04 points to close almost flat at 2,828.39.
A total of one billion shares worth S$678.1 million changed hands. Gainers mostly matched losers 189 to 181.
Real estate investment trusts (Reits) were notable gainers on the day with Ascendas Reit, up 0.41 per cent or one Singapore cent at S$2.45, among the segment's most active counters of the day.
Banks were mixed, as DBS Group gained 0.13 per cent, or two Singapore cents, to S$15.05, while United Overseas Bank retreated by 0.11 per cent, or two Singapore cents, to finish at S$17.98.
