Singapore shares enter Wednesday afternoon trade flat; STI down 0.02% on day
SINGAPORE stocks resumed trading on Wednesday afternoon flat, with the Straits Times Index retreating 0.59 point, or 0.02 per cent to 3,539.8 on the day, as at 1.03pm.
Against the benchmark's level of 3,536.43 heading into the midday break however, the index was up by 3.37 points, or 0.1 per cent.
About 1.14 billion shares worth S$967.2 million changed hands.
Losers outnumbered gainers 228 to 139.
The most actively traded counter were Lion Gold, which was flat at 0.1 Singapore cent with 230.6 million shares traded; and Genting Singapore which was down 1.68 per cent, or two Singapore cents to S$1.17 with 43 million shares traded.
Other active index stocks included DBS which fell one per cent, or 29 Singapore cents to S$28.77; and Singtel which was 0.6 per cent, or two Singapore cents higher at S$3.39.
