Tuesday, November 24, 2015 - 09:13

The Straits Times Index on Tuesday rebounded 20 points to 2,923.49, most probably thanks to short-covering in mainly the banks and Genting Singapore ahead of an expected Tuesday rebound on Wall Street.

SINGAPORE shares were up in the early minutes of trade on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index up 0.04 per cent or 1.05 points to 2,904.54. As at 9.02am, 77.4 million shares worth S$76.1 million changed hands. Gainers outnumbered losers 68 to 51.

Elsewhere, MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was almost flat while Japan's Nikkei dipped 0.1 per cent after a long weekend.
