Singapore shares open 0.1% higher on Friday
THE local market opened 0.1 per cent higher on Friday, with the Straits Times Index up 3.86 points to 2,932.44 at 9.03am - ahead of the US non-farm payrolls data due to come out later on Friday. This is the last jobs report before the Federal Reserve meets this month.
About 90 million shares worth S$129 million changed hands, which worked out to an average unit price of S$1.43 per share.
The most actively traded stock was Global Logistic Properties, which rose S$0.16 to S$2.220 with 11.1 million shares changing hands. Other actives included Noble Group and Alliance Mineral Assets.
Gainers outnumbered losers 88 to 57, or about three up for every two down.
