Singapore shares open 0.16% higher on Tuesday
SINGAPORE shares opened flat on Tuesday as Wall Street stocks retreated overnight, with tech giants Apple, Amazon and Netflix falling sharply.
The benchmark Straits Times Index opened 5.34 points or 0.16 per cent higher at 3,253.68.
Some 20.2 million units worth S$56.1 million changed hands in the first few minutes of trading, with gainers outnumbering losers 71 to 33.
Among the most active stocks in the morning were OCBC, ThaiBev and Mermaid Maritime.
