Singapore shares open 0.21% higher on Friday

    SINGAPORE share prices opened stronger on Friday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) up 6.83 points or 0.21 per cent to 3,274.23 as at 9.01 am. The rise tracked global gains in equities after Greece submitted fresh economic reform proposals to eurozone officials.

    Top gainers in early morning trade included Jardine Strategic Holdings, Dairy Farm International and UOB.

    A total of 45.5 million shares worth S$91.8 million had changed hands as at 9.01am. Gainers outnumbered losers 89 to 41.
