Singapore shares open 0.5% lower on Tuesday
SINGAPORE share prices opened weaker on Tuesday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) down 14.57 points or 0.5 per cent to 2,885.71 as at 9.01am, ahead of a busy week of central bank meetings and economic data releases worldwide.
Top gainers in early morning trade included Jardine Strategic Holdings, Singapore Airlines, Acma, and ARA Asset Management.
A total of 79.2 million shares worth S$40.1 million had changed hands as at 9.02am. Losers outnumbered gainers 61 to 56.
