Singapore shares open 0.55% lower on Tuesday

THE benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) fell 0.55 per cent or 16.63 points to 3,015.48 on Tuesday morning. As at 9.01am, 56 million shares worth S$106.3 million had changed hands.
Losers outnumbered gainers 77 to 68.
Other Asian stocks also dropped and the regional benchmark index retreated from a seven-week high as investors awaited China's trade data.
