Singapore shares open 0.64% higher on Monday

SINGAPORE stocks opened higher on Monday morning, with the Straits Times Index gaining 0.64 per cent or 20.99 points to 3,314.12 as at 9.01am.

Some 105.3m shares worth S$59.1m changed hands. Losers took an early lead over gainers, however, with 73 down to 54 up, or four in negative territory for every three on positive ground.

Newly listed Netlink NBN Trust remained active, but stayed put at 80.5 Singapore cent. DBS Group Holdings slipped 0.4 per cent, or 9 Singapore cents, to S$21.39.
