Singapore shares open 0.68% higher on Thursday
SINGAPORE shares rose at the opening on Thursday following overnight gains in the US markets, with the Straits Times Index gaining 0.68 per cent, or 18.76 points, to 2,785.42 as at 9.02am.
Gainers outnumbered losers 92 to 26, or about seven up for every two down, after 68.1 million shares worth S$41.1 million had changed hands.
Singapore Telecommunications led early activity, rising 1.8 per cent, or seven Singapore cents, to trade at S$3.89 as at 9.15am.
Noble Group advanced 3.3 per cent, or one Singapore cent, to 31.5 Singapore cents.
