Singapore shares open 0.77% lower on Monday

SINGAPORE share prices opened weaker on Monday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) down 25.77 points or 0.77 per cent to 3,316.96 as at 9.01 am, after 61 per cent of Greek voters backed Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras's rejection of creditors' bailout terms.

Top gainers in early morning trade included Jardine Strategic Holdings, Yeo Hiap Seng, Tat Hong Holdings, and Boustead Singapore.

A total of 43.4 million shares worth S$100.1 million had changed hands as at 9.01am. Losers outnumbered gainers 100 to 41.
