Singapore shares open 1.02% lower on Thursday

    SINGAPORE share prices opened weaker on Thursday, with the Straits Times Index (STI) down 33.47 points or 1.02 per cent to 3,251.52 as at 9.01 am, following the Chinese stock market rout and ahead of a deadline for Greece to submit new reform proposals to the eurozone.

    Top gainers in early morning trade included SATS, Vicom, Hong Leong Finance, and Bumitama Agri.

    A total of 39 million shares worth S$89.1 million had changed hands as at 9.01am. Losers outnumbered gainers 113 to 36.
