Singapore shares open 2.72 points lower on Wednesday
SINGAPORE share prices opened lower on Wednesday with the Straits Times Index down 2.72 points to 2,930.72 as at 9am.
The US markets put up a mixed performance overnight. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed lower, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq gained.
Top losers in early-morning trade in Singapore included Jardine Matheson Holdings, Keppel Corporation, SIA Engineering and ST Engineering.
Some 76.9 million shares worth S$41.4 million changed hands, with losers outnumbering gainers 56 to 54.
