SINGAPORE shares opened slightly higher on Monday despite greater uncertainties in the aftermath of the London attacks over the weekend and weaker-than-expected US jobs report late on Friday.

The benchmark Straits Times Index crept up 2.79 points or 0.09 per cent to 3,242.80.

At 9.02am, 40.4 million shares worth S$66.4 million changed hands, with gainers beating losers 93 to 35.

Among the actives were Singtel, Golden Agri-Resources and OCBC Bank.
