Singapore shares open 61 points higher on Thursday

SHARES in the Singapore bourse opened higher on Thursday with the key Straits Times Index surging 60.98 points to 2,853.71. The rise followed an overnight rally on Wall Street as Brexit worries that have rattled global markets appear to have eased up.
Some 235 million shares worth about S$413 million were done as at 9am, with 113 counters up and 29 down.
