Singapore shares open flat on Wednesday
SINGAPORE stocks opened flat on Wednesday, with the Straits Times Index falling 1.38 points to 3,210.66 as at 9.02 am.
This comes on the back of mixed US markets overnight, with the S&P 500 ending flat and the Nasdaq posting modest gains as technology shares rebounded.
On the Singapore bourse, about 60 million shares worth S$47.2 million changed hands. Gainers outnumbered losers 72 to 48.
The most actively traded counter was Accrelist, which fell S$0.001 to S$0.007 with 25.8 million shares changing hands. Other actives included Blumont Group and Raffles Education.
Elsewhere, Japan's Topix slid 0.7 per cent as at 9.19am in Tokyo. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 Index was little changed, as was South Korea's Kospi index, Bloomberg reported.
