Singapore shares open higher on Friday
SINGAPORE share prices opened higher on Friday with the Straits Times Index up 1.11 points to 2,849.57 as at 9am. US markets closed higher overnight, with energy stocks among the top gainers on belief that investors have been too pessimistic over oil-related counters.
Top gainers in early morning trade in Singapore included Jardine C&C and Singapore Airlines.
Some 23.7 million shares worth S$46.4 million changed hands, with losers outnumbering gainers 51 to 45.
